| Kamikaze Cookery Live - first episode next week (June 2nd and 3rd) | Hugh 2009-05-26 16:30:00 UTC |
OK, the Kamikaze Cookery Live Event is coming to an Intertube near you, soon! Yep, a week today, Alex and I will start on our first live test event. We’ll be taking a semi-Normal Person Vs format, as we attempt to cook a recipe from either Heston Blumenthal’s In Search Of Perfection series, or something from the French Laundry cookbook, and we’ll video, Twitter, blog, live stream, and Flickr our way through the entire thing. More details soon! So, join us next week, on the evenings of the 2nd and 3rd as we boldly venture into new territory of ambitious-but-rubbish cookery – LIVE! Any questions or suggestions, ask ’em below! KKC Live #1 – Tuesday 2nd of June and Wednesday 3rd of June from 7pm BST (1pm EST, 10am PST) until about 2am BST (8pm EST, 5pm PST). Be there! | |
| Ben Hutchings | 2009-05-26 23:58:29 UTC Do you really mean GMT/EST/PST or do you mean BST/EDT/PDT? | |
| Mark Bolton | 2009-05-27 08:45:24 UTC Looks like I might be able catch the end of your sessions. Being 8 hours ahead of you, a 1900 BST start doesn’t work very well for me! | |
| Hugh | 2009-05-27 10:28:19 UTC Arse. You’re right, it’s BST. Corrected. | |
| Marc Hartstein | 2009-05-28 05:31:23 UTC Assuming it’s 7pm BST [British Summer Time, right?], it would probably be more helpful to list 2pm EDT/11am PDT [Eastern Daylight Time and Pacific Daylight Time, respectively]. Almost nobody in North America is using xST right now, and they’re probably better at dealing with converting from DT to ST that the majority of we stupid Americans are at noticing and converting from ST to DT. Yes, it’s ridiculous that in different countries speaking the same language, an S used in a timezone name means completely opposite things. | |
| Fiona | 2009-05-29 16:15:33 UTC I’m a newbie (with a sous vide braising steak in the oven as I type at work!!!) – what is the best way to follow yr fun next week??? | |
| Hugh | 2009-05-29 16:18:41 UTC Fiona - 1) Subscribe to the KKCook Twitter feed. It’ll all be going on there. We’ll make sure that everything else (streaming, Flickr, video, whatever) is linked from one of those two places. Tbh, we’re making this up as we go along, so we’re as uncertain what’s going to happen as you are! |
