| Mini-Episode! | Hugh 2008-10-13 18:24:00 UTC |
OK, this is a bit of an experiment! We’ve just posted a mini-episode covering more sous-vide stuff – lamb, chicken, and vegetables, to be precise. It’s info-heavy and quite simple, but hopefully interesting. We’re really interested to see what you think of this. Would you like to see more mini-episodes? Do you prefer just the high quality of the main episodes? Was it useful? Was it funny? Let us know. | |
| SpudTater | 2008-10-13 20:07:32 UTC Yeah, the mini-episodes are a good idea. Liked the more info-heavy nature of it. | |
| Judith | 2008-10-14 00:40:21 UTC I like the short episode and that it was info-heavy, but the production was not to my taste. Too many cutaways, too choppy – I know it sounds weird, but that much visual distraction makes it hard to hear. Text as a sidebar was good. Too much hand waving, not enough visual interest – hold up vacuum packed lamb, chicken, veg – mash the potatoes, You’re a nice enough looking guy, but I’d like to see more food, less face, fewer hands. I think you’re onto a good thing, but you need to tighten up your production values. | |
| Hugh | 2008-10-14 10:23:22 UTC Thanks for the feedback, guys! @Spudtater – thanks, we’ll consider doing more info-heavy stuff. That’s one of the things we were thinking about for the mini-episodes – we can get a bit more sciencey. @Judith – thanks, that’s really useful. I’ll have a think about how we can increase the visual info in mini-episodes – we only get about 3 hours to film and edit them, so it’s gotta be simple. |
